This book fought me every step of the way - so many things went wrong that it’d be easier to say what two steps didn’t go wrong: 1) sewing the textblock 2) painting the title on the cover (but even that is on thin fucking ice). Despite all of that I’m happy with the result!
Fic:Slow Dancing In A Burning Room by feelslikefire, one of my all time favourite Bond/Q fics.
The fireworks themed endpapers are a reference to Q’s fractal art in this fic actually, in a visual-metaphorical sense…the endpapers inform the design of the rest of the book from colour scheme to the little scene dividers. The bookmark I made on a whim from leftover scraps and the black bookmark ribbon was a last minute addition - I had already sewn the headbands on so I had to very carefully slide the ribbon under the headbands so I could glue it down to the spine. The red fore edge that can be glimpsed also wasn’t planned, my printer fucked up and left toner all over the pages and especially the edge so this is a coverup. I forgot to do a second coat of red so that’s why I didn’t take proper photos of the fore edge - that’s a fix for later.
