Stella, a hometown celebrity, one of two girls who was kidnapped as a little kid, except she came back. Now a teenager, she’s desperate to remember what happened the day she disappeared. Because whatever took her friend is back and wants more.
I was so excited for this book; I mean, look at that cover! So creepy. And that tagline… “If you hunt monsters, you’ll find them.” it sends shivers down my back! But sadly the book wasn’t as creepy as it should have been.
Stella was so annoying, and her friends were all awful. She was whiny and spoiled. She never seemed to care about anyone but herself. She was a terrible main character. There was not one character in the book that I liked, they were all boring but still annoying.
The writing was on the verge of being great, but never quite got there. It could have been really good, but it just wasn’t. It was like a movie that has an amazing trailer and you go and see it and wish you had your $11+tax back.
The ending was so disappointing. Honestly, it had so much built up and it fell apart like a sand castle too close to the water.
I can’t say I really recommend this book. Maybe if you’re in the mood for something almost creepy but not scary or chill-inducing you’d like it.
