It baffles me how many people think that free speech means “I can say whatever the fuck I want without criticism”, instead of what it actually means, which is “I can say whatever the fuck I want without the government throwing me in prison”. Freedom of Speech doesn’t protect you from the criticism of your peers, it protects you from governmental persecution. And the government has created acts and doctrines establishing when it is okay to limit free speech so idk what y'all are on about.
