The Falling is like a greatest hits collection of semi-lesbianism in film.  There’s a mysterious “what’s happening to these girls” disease and lounging about on a hillside like some sort of Picnic At Hanging Rock.  There’s hints of general boarding school lesbianism like some sort of Madchen in Uniform.  Or Lost and Delirious.  OrTherese and Isabelle.  OrCracks.  OrOlivia.  OrTanner Hall.  There’s an obsessive and co-dependent relationship between two teenage girls ending in tragedy like some sort of Heavenly Creatures orMy Summer of Love.  And there’s a dead girl with ambiguous sexuality like… well, most movies with girls who aren’t totally straight.

Florence Pugh is an English actress from Oxford. She made her professional acting debut in the mystery film The Falling (2014) and gained recognition for her portrayal of an unhappily married woman in the independent drama Lady Macbeth (2016).
