LIVE

The 2015 Christmas Special is almost here, and with it, a new post-Clara era of Doctor Who begins. This seems as good a time of any to announce that I am ending Who News after over a year of reporting Doctor Who updates.

My reasons for ending it are simple: I have become much busier and will only continue to get busier in the near future, and I believe it is better to make the decision to end the site now, rather than do an increasingly poor job, only getting in the occasional post here and there. Additionally, I began to feel that Who News was starting to stagnate a bit, and I would like to have my memory of writing Doctor Who news be a positive one, and not remember it as being a chore. If you’re still in need of Doctor Who news, I would highly recommend doctorwhotv.co.uk.

Ending this site certainly doesn’t mean I will stop watching Doctor Who. The show remains one of my greatest passions and I am looking forward to Series 10, Patrick Ness’ spin-off Class, and whatever else the future holds for the Doctor and his TARDIS. I just won’t be reporting news about the series any longer. Feel free to follow me on Twitterand/orTumblr if you like!

Finally, I would like to thank you all for following and supporting Who News and its sister sites since it began just days before 2013′s 50th anniversary special. The Doctor Who fan community is so gracious and supportive and it was fantastic to be able to provide a service to you all! It is continuously surprising to see how many people respond to my posts, and heartwarming to know that we have all come together just a little bit in sharing our love of Doctor Who.

So I suppose I’ll end this post with one of my favorite scenes of Doctor Who, and one that I think is criminally underrated:

Thank you again for following Who News, and don’t forget to watch the 2015 Christmas Special The Husbands of River Song 25 December, 5:15pm on BBC One, 9/8c on BBC America!

Doctor Who returns 25 December with the 2015 Christmas Special The Husbands of River Song, guest starring Alex Kingston, Greg Davies and Matt Lucas!
