From Mike McCartney’s Early Liverpool: “At the bottom of the reel on the right there are a couple of photos of Paul’s bashed-up face, which he got when he came off his moped with Tara ‘Guinness’ Browne at Christmas in 1965. Paul insisted I took his picture so that he would have a record of how he looked after the accident. I was reticent, but took these images and printed off two copies, one for him and one for me. Unfortunately, he had a dodgy housekeeper and chauffeur living in his London home; they did a moonlight flit to Europe taking Paul’s photo with them and sold it to the newspapers as ‘proof’ of “Beatle Paul’s Drunken Drug Parties”!
