Yay! I successfully watched and wrote about 31 new (to me) horror movies in 31 days! I guess it helped that there was nothing else going on this year. As a bonus here are the 10 title sequences that I liked the most out of the movies I watched. Praise Satan :)
Going into this I wasn’t sure if it was actually a horror film or not. The Criterion Channel classified it as a comedy whereas IMDb considers it a horror / thriller.
A lot of turtlenecks. The clothes and styling in general were excellent.
At one point the wife serves up half an avocado as a meal. Yum.
The apartment building the protagonists live in is cool, except that their front door only has a tiny bathroom door style push lock. That is spooky.
BELIEVE WOMEN!
Overall I would classify this as a psychological thriller that explores class and gender tensions with some scary bits.
This definitely had a successful impact as a horror film on me because I had a nightmare about it right after I watched it. Great job Peter Weir.
