#the ramble no one asked for

LIVE

just finished on my block season 4 and i am an absolute mess knowing this is the series finale, i’ve been dreading watching it, but i made myself do it and wow.

what a painfully bittersweet & beautiful ending.

i started watching this show in my junior yr of high school a little while after my dad died, when things were especially rough and i had accumulated a lot of trauma and baggage (but didn’t realise it and didn’t wanna deal with it)

i never expected to heal so much from this show. to feel so much comfort in watching bipoc kids like me deal with so many of the issues i faced as well. to see a bipoc community depicted in a way that did not sugarcoat its struggles and its pain but also did not just brush over all the laughter, the joys and the celebrations.

it all just hit so close to home for me, and i’m so sad it’s ended but i’m so grateful we got to see four brown and black kids grow and overcome so much shit and find happiness ❤️
