Frankie is thrumming in the seat beside you, the hand on the wheel twisting and shifting until you can almost see the sheen of sweat on it.
He insisted on picking you up for the barbecue, which has you now sitting in one of your favorite places; the passenger seat of Frankie’s pickup. His right hand is constantly flitting between changing the radio station, holding the gear shifter, and resting on your leg. You’d asked how good Frankie wanted you to look for the boys (he’d stammered and said wear whatever you want) and settled on jeans and a sweater. The early April air was still a little crisp in the evening. Frankie had shown up in a worn denim shirt and his khaki canvas jacket, the one he often wrapped around your shoulders if you got too cold, citing that “he didn’t need to impress these clowns.” His thumb worries at the outside seam of your jeans as you see a cute little colonial home sway in the distance.
Don’t mind me…just revisiting sex worker Frankie because got I love this so much! The boys are well written. It makes me happy to see them happy The final scene cracked me up but it’s also so sweet!

I had such a fun time writing the other boys, they’re just as much a part of Frankie’s life as Ms J and I’m so glad you were having fun along with them.
