La Colombe Coffee chief executive Todd Carmichael says he offered to give Pennsylvania’s Wyoming Valley West School District $22,000 to wipe out the bills. A spokesman for the leader of the Philadelphia-based coffee roaster said Tuesday that board president Joseph Mazur rejected the offer, arguing money is owed by parents who can afford to pay. Wyoming Valley West’s lawyer, Charles Coslett, says he’s not sure what the school board plans to do. Child welfare authorities have told the district that Luzerne County doesn’t run its foster system that way.

So let me get this straight @delta and @edbastian your employee called the security on me promising me a $300 gift card and didn’t explain anything to me so now it’s my fault. Out of about 9 employees at Delta all were unprofessional and that’s the best you all got. That’s your best talent? This unprofessional woman named Keina is your best talent? All of them had attitudes yesterday. Chic-Fil-A is headquartered in Atlanta and I’m sure they can give @Delta a lesson in customer service. This is her calling stating I harassed her. As much as black men are getting arrested for nothing, that means it had to be a lie. I didn’t know asking for something is harassment. Downriver teen pleads guilty to filing false police report regarding fake Wyandotte cop | Eights days after filing a false police report, 17-year-old Faith Gentry pleaded guilty as charged in 28th District Court on March 8.

Through her attorney, the Southgate Anderson High School senior requested probation and no jail time. When asked what happened — and with her attorney whispering in her ear — she flatly told Judge James Kandrevas: “I filed a false police report last Thursday.” The judge accepted the plea and referred Gentry to the probation office for a recommendation.

Gentry made headlines when she claimed to have been stopped by a fake cop and aired her story on Fox 2.

The Southgate Police Department, however, determined early in its investigation that “the story was not matching up with the facts.” “Public safety is our main concern and we cannot have or tolerate (hoaxes) and fear being put into our residents minds,” a statement from Southgate police read. “The police officers out working the streets of Downriver cannot do their jobs (efficiently and effectively) with this type of behavior.” On March 1, Gentry was featured on a Fox 2 segment with her mother, describing the “incident” in detail. She said she was stopped by a black man at Fort Street and Eureka Road, near the border of Southgate and Wyandotte, and asked for her driver’s license. CONTROL THE NARRATIVE • WHY ARE BLACK MEN MISSING • In New York, almost 120,000 black men between the ages of 25 and 54 are missing from everyday life. In Chicago, 45,000 are, and more than 30,000 are missing in Philadelphia. Across the South — from North Charleston, S.C., through Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi and up into Ferguson, Mo. — hundreds of thousands more are missing.
They are missing, largely because of early deaths or because they are behind bars. Remarkably, black women who are 25 to 54 and not in jail outnumber black men in that category by 1.5 million, according to an Upshot analysis. For every 100 black women in this age group living outside of jail, there are only 83 black men. Among whites, the equivalent number is 99, nearly parity.
African-American men have long been more likely to be locked up and more likely to die young, but the scale of the combined toll is nonetheless jarring. On July 19 i was antagonized harassed and assaulted by this officer in this video my car fell did on the feeder of 59 and little York I begin to push my car up the driveway of a nearby business the sheriff in the video pulled up on me ask me if I needed help I told him I did not need any help from him I had someone on the way to help me he proceeded to call a tow truck and told them to tow my car and told me I had to pay 185 I told him I didn’t have any money for a tow that’s why I have help on the way just leave me alone and I’ll be okay I do not need any help they continued to harass me and this is what happened
