My hot take remains that if we can’t get rid of the Senate, then we should at least take the principle of “two Senators for every small geographically distinct population” to its logical extent. Automatically grant two Senators for DC and two Senators representing Americans living abroad; pending referendums, offer two Senators each to Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, and the 300 people living in the US Minor Outlying Islands. Anything less than 10 new Senators is a failure of our Constitutional Republic!
