Oh yeah, speaking of Twisted Sister, that’s a band I’m a pretty big fan of, they were pretty big in Chile during the heyday of rock music, and We’re Not Gonna Take It in particular is beloved in here.

And, what happens with beloved music in foreign languages in Chile is that we make up our own lyrics, often ridiculous, with Spanish words, so long as it fits right. The “We’re not gonna take it” chorus part is sung “huevos con aceite” (”eggs with oil”) in here, and at the end of the chorus, “We’re not gonna take it, anymore” is “huevos con aceite, y limón” (”eggs with oil and lemon”).

This has been a pretty big cultural meme for decades, and it all came full circle on a Twisted Sister concert held in Chile some years ago when Dee Snider brought it up, asking “hey, Chile, I’ve heard you have your own lyrics for We’re Not Gonna Take It, I wanna hear them”.
