#this scene

Leonardo fighting against and struggling through his guilt and PTSD.
I wasn’t able to appreciate this when I was younger because I didn’t fully understand back then but I can now as an adult and this entire sequence is beautiful??? Like the symbolism of Leo fighting, literally fighting against his demons and him getting his ass beat in the process the more he struggles, which is actually forcing him to actually confront his guilt and fear over what happened to him and his family.
Then him finally breaking down and apologizing to himself, to his family, admitting that he did all he could in that fight with the Shredder, full blown screaming at the top of his lungs that there was nothing more he could have done. Is a relief and heartbreaking to witness.
He loves his baby brothers and father so much and I am here for it, I love it so much. Brotherly love FTW!
Rewatching these episodes made me realize why Leo was my all time favorite Turtle when I was a kid before I got older and it changed to Donnie.
“Have you come here to hurt me?”
