kidgezine:

We have a nice, round total of 30 artists and 20 writers that will all be included in the digital version of the zine. Only 9 artists and 8 writers are guaranteed in the print though we’ve got stretch goals to include more. This list will get updated as we get bios finalized.

About Stretch Goals

Because we want to keep the zine affordable for y'all to actually buy, we had to be conservative about how many contributors we let into the printed version. Those guaranteed to print are all we can fit at the price we intend to sell the books, but we’re accepting donations and will be selling merch to raise funds so we can print more pages. If we reach our goals we’ll be able to let more contributors in, even though that means the books will cost us more to print than we’ll be charging y’all to buy them.

These are our current stretch goals:

  • Goal 1: Sell at least 50 copies of the printed zine
We fully expect to reach this goal given the response we’ve gotten on our interest form, but you never know. This goal allows more artists and writers into the printed zine.
  • Goal 2: Raise at least $500 in Ko-fi donations
We will probably reach this goal. We’re already over 30% of the way there. This goal allows even more artists and writers into the printed zine.
  • Goal 3: Raise at least $1000 in Ko-fi donations
We’re really not expecting to make it here and don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, so this goal doesn’t let anyone new in but gives writers already in the print version a few more pages and gets us closer to Goal 5.
  • Goal 4: Sell at least 100 zine bundles (zine with merch)
We really hope to make it here because this goal will allow us to have more and better merch, as well as dramatically reducing the cost of printing which gets us closer to Goal 5.
  • Goal 5: Make enough money to cover the cost
We’re not gonna put a number to this because it depends on too many variables - but when orders close and we go into production we will print everything if we can afford it. No promises though, because we’re gonna have to sell a lot of merch to reach this goal.
