I grasped the planets and stars in the palm of my hand, a grin on my face as I excitedly walked home. My feet stomped against the stone pavement, the wind sweeping my hair as I readjusted the strap of my bag on my shoulder.
Once I saw the familiar building, I went in the elevator and pressed the button to my floor, a ding sounding at the arrival of my destination. I walked out the elevator, turning my head towards the right as I made my way towards my unit.
I unlocked the door with my key, swinging it open as I plopped down my bag on a chair and opened the bedroom door.
“Timmy! Look what I got!” I all but yelled. My boyfriend, Timothée, was sitting on the couch, phone in hand as he nearly fell off the bed at the sound of my voice. His head jerked up towards me, his mouth stretching into a smile when his eyes flitted with recognition.
“Hellomon amour, what did you get?” He asked, glancing at the stuff I held in my hands. He put his phone down and got off the bed, feet making their way towards me before he wrapped me in a hug. I melted in his arms for a moment, resting my head against the crook of his neck and letting my eyes flutter close for a split second. He buried his face in my hair, mumbling something but I couldn’t quite catch it. I pulled back.
“LOOK!” I chirped, showing him what I had in my hands.
“What are those?” He asked, a light laugh at the end of his sentence as he furrowed his eyebrows in curiosity at my excitement. Plastic planets and stars are what I held in my hand.
“They’re night lights! I saw them in that store next to the coffee shop and they glow in the dark!” I said. The grin that I was wearing was wide, my excitement uncontainable at something that most would call merely a small thing.
“That’s so cool y/n, do you want to put them up right now?” Timothée said, holding the bag of stars from your hand and intertwining your fingers together, dragging you towards your bedroom.
I grinned, rushing towards an empty jar and putting the planets in them, before running towards the curtains and pulling them shut. I turned around, the room was dark, a few streaks of light spilling from behind the curtains and I was met with a smiling Timmy, a fond look glazed over his eyes.
“What?” I asked, making my way to sit on the bed and staring up at him. He seemed to snap out of his trance, shaking his head a little causing his curls to bounce as he made his way towards me, the smile on his face still noticeable.
He kneeled down in front of me, his eyes had a glint of light in them, reflected from the leaks of light from the curtains that were hastily shut. “I just… I think I just fell in love with you even more,” He said, watching me intently. I felt myself suck in a breath. Stop looking at me like that or I’ll jump you right now.

“S-Shut up,” I stuttered out feeling my cheeks heating up. I looked down at the jar of planets in my hand and gasped.
“Timmy! They’re fucking glowing!” I exclaimed, holding up the now luminous jar of glow-in-the-dark planets. They lit up a turquoise color, and I reached my hand into the jar to pull out one of the planets. I looked up to see Timmy had a boyish grin on his face as he held out a hand towards me.
“Let me see uranus,” He said, winking at the end of his sentence at me before he started laughing at his own joke. I struggled to contain my smile at the sound of his laughter.
“That… wasn’t funny,” I said, giving him an unimpressed look before he chuckled once more, leaning down to give me a kiss on the forehead.
“You love it when I make those jokes, mon amour, don’t even lie to me. Are we going to put up these glow-in-the-dark stuff or what?” He asked. I rolled my eyes before smiling.
“Hey love, guess what?” He asked, causing me to turn away from the jar of glowing planets.
“What?”
“You’re my universe.” He held up the stars and planets before laughing again, wrapping his arm around your neck and pulling you in for a kiss.
