“Good morning,” Dr. Carrick beamed. It was far too early in the day to be this chipper, even for Tobias Carrick. His two co-workers eyed him with disgust.
Dr. Dennison rolled her eyes, grabbing the iced coffee Tobias had brought her. “It’s 5:30 AM, it’s already 85 degrees outside, and it’s new intern day,” she moaned. “What the hell are you so happy about.”
Across the table, Dr. Terrance Mendoza pulled his coffee out of the holder and snickered. “That’s exactly why he’s so chipper. Isn’t that right, my friend?”
