This cherry blossom festival is held in Shizumine Furusato Park, located in Ibaraki, Japan. This park has around 200 Yoshino trees that starts to blossom around early April, while its 2,000 “doubled-flower cherry trees” stunningly unfolds in late April to May.

Despite having a terrible weather, I was able to capture this wonderful moment.

It was definitely difficult to get a picture while it was raining and freezing (it was taken in February). I don’t feel comfortable taking pictures while wearing gloves, I usually take them off.

During this time, my hands were beginning to be as cold as ice and I was getting frustrated because I couldn’t get a decent photo, but then I shot this! I got so pumped and gave me confidence! I kept taking photos

The only reason I knew about it was because of RUROUNI KENSHIN. It’s a manga that was turned into an anime and then a live action movie. One of its scenes were shot in Shiga.

As we were exploring a somewhat empty mall, we accidentally found the way to Nunobiki; hence, we decided to go with the flow and check it out!
