Treasures of 221B is a new fic-rec site for the Sherlock fandom, and we’re hoping you guys can help us out by submitting recs to some of your favourite Sherlock fics.

The idea behind this site is to champion some of the great ongoing and emerging talent in the Sherlock fandom. There are basically only three limitations to the fic submissions.

* The story must be complete
* It must have been finished after March 2013
* You can’t submit your own work

As long as the fic you love and want to promote fits those criteria, we would absolutely love to hear from you!

FAQs

Q. Is it Johnlock only?
A. No. We accept recs for all ‘ships (including gen!)

Q. Why do you only accept complete fics?
A. We want readers to be able to get a real flavour for the great works out there, and completed stories can offer a hit of great fic without waiting for an update (We do hope to occasionally spotlight Works In Progress, though, but they will be at the discretion of the moderators.)

Q. Why don’t you recommend some of the older fics in the fandom?
A. Mostly because older works have been around longer and have received more exposure. This fandom is active and engaged, and we want to acknowledge the new and ongoing contributors. In future, we may recommend some old favourites as well, but again, this will be at the discretion of the moderators.

Q. Can I submit my own work?
A. We won’t publish recommendations for works submitted by the author. However, why not get your friends/followers/readers to champion your work and submit a rec to us?

Q. What do you mean by “champion”?
A. We want the people who submit fic recs to be all-out crazy in love with what they’re recommending. Not “I like it, but…” This is all about loving creative output and respecting/rewarding the time, effort and passion that goes into it, and helping your fellow readers hopefully find something they’ll love just as much!

If you’d like to submit a fic rec, just go to the “submit a rec” page, paste the template on there into the submission box, fill it in and hit submit. We’ll start posting your recs as soon as we can!
