Plenty of best-selling and beloved novels will be coming out as feature films this year but two that I am particularly anticipating are:

What was good:
The menacing landscape. The continuous feeling of unwell. Nods to auteurs and writers I love vigorously (such as Lynch and Ellroy).
The big themes: corruption piercing every fucking plane; what makes you You; the ever-so-doomed illusions you might change yourself into something else; reflections; the impossibility of altering one’s destiny.
A 6ft5 gangster in a designer suit. The red carnation.
The minor characters: what a great bunch. Nails! The creepy drunk mayor Chessani! The chiselled psychiatrist!
Ray snorting all the whisky and cocaine in the world while trashing his apartment, with a New York Dolls soundtrack
What was bit not good:
The crime/mystery plot part thingy. Words escape me.
Lera Lynn. My apologies to all her fans. Wanted to mute her from the first ep.
Paul. Who the fuck even was Paul? And is it even LEGAL to use “being gay will eventually be the death of you” -trope in 2015?
Most of the dialogue. Most of Frank’s bullshit musings. Blue balls in WHAT?
And finally, Ani - a strong female character, no, wait, A CRUCIBLE FOR MARTYRS SEED, for fuck’s sake Pizzolatto

the finale was better than the rest of the plot. i think this fandom suffers from S1 being so interesting and easy to follow and re-watchable and GOOD and S2 just couldn’t do it while overcompensating with some super conspiracy plot.
You might be right about the finale and youareabsolutely right about the rest. I’m just furious about that extra half an hour lol

finished TDS02. WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED
all I can think is: Omega Station run for 86 minutes. Haven’t made the exact math yet, but I suppose that means we got almost half and hour more of S02 than S01.I want to kill someone
