#truth and reconciliation

Today, in Canada we mark the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in remembrance of all the children that died in residential schools, as well as those that survived their horrors.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to learn, observe, and reflect. It is intended to provide all Canadians with an opportunity to remember the injustices inflicted on First Nations, Inuit, and the Métis Nation. ⁠

For anyone experiencing pain or distress, including residential school survivors, their families, or those dealing with intergenerational traumas, the Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line is confidential, anonymous, and available 24 hours a day at 1.866.925.4419.⁠
