Having dinner on the balcony of his condo seems like the ideal, fairytale evening only someone like him could offer. The two of you sitting so close after your meal to keep warm in the breeze has your heart fluttering, the heat rushing to your cheeks. He’s more than a gentleman when he removes his coat with a shrug of his shoulders, wrapping it around you with nothing but care and adoration in his eyes, eyes sparkling brighter than the stars in the sky. Blushing, you thank him while sipping your wine and you’re not sure how many glasses you’ve had when you’re so lost in his love and wrapped up in him.

The view of the city from his balcony is breathtaking, and you comment on the fact, but he finds it difficult to focus when he can only remind himself how beautiful you look in the dress trimmed in black lace he picked out just for you. The weight of his gaze has you blushing all over again, though you’ve experienced this exact evening with him hundreds of times and somehow he always manages to make it feel like the first.

“You look incredible tonight,” he leans over to whisper in your ear, a chill running down your spine from his deep voice so close to make you weak in the knees. The two of you have left the table for his staff to clear while you cling to the railing with one hand, wine glass cupped in the other. He stands behind you, arms wrapped around your waist to make sure you’re warm, and there’s no way you couldn’t be when he’s so close. “I love this dress on you.”

“What? This old thing?” you tease, earning a chuckle and kiss against your jaw when his lips begin to roam. Never mind that he had it ordered and sent to you only hours ago – something he does when he wants to be spontaneous with his surprises. And there are never enough of those when it comes to you, according to him.

“You know where it would look great?” he asks, hands falling from your waist to grip your hips, mouth lowering to your neck to earn goosebumps with every single kiss.

“On your bedroom floor?” you reply, only half-jokingly but the thought does send warmth flooding throughout your body.

“Well, I was going to say at this boring dinner I have to attend next week where I would like you to accompany me,” he informs you, “but I do like the way you think.”

Suddenly, he turns your body to face him. In the midst of the abrupt motion, you’re not sure if it’s the wine or coming so close to his lips that leaves you light-headed, but you ignore the rush for now as he leans closer. His soft, warm lips against your own soothes the dizziness in seconds, deepening the kiss in a moment’s notice as your hand rises to wrap fingers around his neck. The action earns a groan against your skin with his body pressing against your own to allow you to feel the excitement of being so close and having you in his arms.

When he pulls away, you can’t help but to gulp as the blood rushes to your head once again upon seeing his eyes darken with desire, licking his lips to savor the taste of you on his skin. And all it takes is one nod of his head and a slip of your hand in his to signal where the night is headed.

As you make your way from the balcony to head inside, you’re glad you left your heels by the door in fear of stumbling as he guides you. Your legs quiver, from his kiss and from the alcohol, so unsteady in moments and it doesn’t take long for him to notice.

“Too much wine?” he teases you, pausing to press a hand to the small of your back to keep you upright. A smirk forms on his lip as warmth rushes to your face, feeling embarrassed you might have gotten carried away, but it’s always so easy to let loose with him.

“I, uh, yes!” Then you giggle, trying to form words but you only ever realize how tipsy you are when it’s too late. His smile widens with a shake of his head, continuing to drag you through the large living room on ice cold, wooden floors chilling your bare feet. As you make your way down the long hallway, passing room after room you’re not even sure what he uses them for, the dizziness turns into drowsiness, barely being able to keep your balance while he pulls you along.

Relief floods you the moment you’re in his spacious bedroom, finding comfort in his bed against the soft, white and gray duvet once he guides you to have a seat. Watching as he tugs the buttons on his sleeves before beginning to roll them to his elbows warms your body twice as much, even though the alcohol electrifying every inch of you already has you so hot… and suddenly sleepy.

Your eyes flutter, though not from need or desire, but from the effects of one too many glasses of wine. Biting your lip, you try to focus on him as he reaches behind you, exhaling softly once he unzips the back of your dress.

“You know,” he says, fingers gripping the lacey straps to ease them down your shoulders, “you’re so cute when you’re sleepy.”

Your back hits the soft, cool duvet a second later, struggling to keep your eyes open while he peels the dress from your body, folding it once before setting it against the matching, white bench at the foot of the bed. He leaves you in white, lace lingerie he’s also gifted you the same afternoon, biting his lip as he takes in the sight of you, but it quickly turns innocent as he pulls the covers back before assisting you in resting your head against the pillow.

“And you’re cute when you’re… cute,” you babble, causing him to laugh softly and shake his head.

Soon, he has you all bundled up beneath the blankets, so warm and so close to drifting off to sleep. A kiss against your forehead urges you to give in to the sleepiness, and his hand caressing your back eases all the tension from your body to have you succumbing to a peaceful dreamland.

Even if it’s not the way you expected to end such a fairytale evening, you can’t help but to think he is still your prince charming.
