gwynsblade:

netflix geralt is a dickhead with no flavor

twn fans not knowing that twn is inaccurate to the books scares me. you must understand, the netflix show is riverdale and the books are the archie comics. the netflix show is the percy jackson movies and the books are the percy jackson books. the netflix show is the avatar the last airbender movie and the books are the avatar the last airbender show.

do not ask when this scene happened in the books because It Never Happened They Made That Sh*t Up For Views. assume that nothing is real. you are looking at the shadow in the cave

ok i think twn could have represented yennefer’s want for a child much better (of course, since it’s netflix…) but since it is (technically) adaptation that wants to introduce yennefer and her motivations sooner, i think that’s certainly feasible but they went about it the absolutely wrong way.

showing her pregnant, barefoot, and it’s geralt’s, is not an accurate representation of reasons that yennefer wants a child. … they focus so much on her anatomy as a cisgender woman it’s bizarre and uncomfortable. stop considering her uterus (or lack thereof, i suppose since in the show they showed it being surgically removed when yennefer in the books never went through such a procedure…?)

why not just show her holding a child, playing with a beloved smiling daughter, lifting her up and kissing her nose and holding her close? that’s pretty much what yennefer wanted, a family to love and be loved by… she’s a taurus for fuck’s sake… because it’s very significant that her own biological mother left her to suffer and watched her be harmed by her stepfather doing nothing, yennefer wants her own child to do better by, to genuinely love and protect and be an actual mother to. because the whole point is that bearing a child doesn’t matter it’s the love that you give a child. don’t understand why they had to add pregnancy costume to it

another thing that pisses me off about netflix’s the witcher is that they make the largest conflict the monsters or the demons or the spirits or whatever. “the monsters are getting stronger” “we’ve never seen this kind of leshy before” etc etc.

while in the books, yes, the world is coming to ruin, it could collapse in violence at any moment, and it does, but not because of monsters of the post-conjunction type… rather because of imperialism, war, invasion. our characters live in constant fear of soldiers, not of monsters… a very real and human fear, one not confined to fantasy stories

karanfile:

the witcher franchise has become a very badly coordinated game of telephone whose participants aren’t even trying

she looks sooo miserably uncomfortable trying to keep it on herself

she literally can’t move her arms an inch without exposing herself in front of everyone and the camera… imagine standing with your arms pinned together for however long filming the shot takes

the showrunner and new costume designer both being white women and exploiting anya chalotra constantly by adding nude scenes, sex scenes, a torture scene, and a rape scene, just to get her on camera like… disgusting
