edit: quickly want to clear up the guy she’s protecting + carrying is Faramir, the guy she’s fighting is Eomer, for the drama hehe

anybody else constantly fluctuating between my nose is fine its minding it’s own business nobody notices it and My Nose Is Ruining My Entire Face

what’s the best song in Prince of Egypt and why is it the instrumental version of “you who I called brother how could you have come to hate me so is this what you wanted” right before Moses and Ramses’ last fight and why is it also the epilogue which includes the instrumental version of deliver us and jochebed’s cry, both which are not on spotify

while we’re on the topic though. For me the true devil’s bargain is actually romance in a romance book vs romance in a different genre book. like romance in a romance book is quick, to the point, and you can decide relatively quickly if you like their dynamic or you want to move on. however you don’t necessarily have to root for them because the genre kind of mandates they’ll be fine

meanwhile romance in a different genre is like. uh they just looked at eachother kinda funny? is this happening?? hey she cut off his hand is this HAPPENING?? HEY ONE OF THEM IS NURSING THE OTHER IS THIS HAPPENING?? but you have to go through hours of actual plot before you decide if this couple is for you.

my point is the best romances are video game relationship cutscene compilations on youtube

liridi:

I’ve read a couple of romance books now (like three but anyway) because I’ve been getting book fatigue so I’ve been sprinkling them in between my usuals because they’re quick and relatively fun

and I was just wondering if anybody else has it that the dynamic is usually really great up until the 3/5 and/or ¾ mark (the point where the couple usually gets together and are happy for like three scenes) but the book quickly plummets into hell because something relatively stupid has come up to keep them apart because The Narrative mandates a climax? this is my experience of these books literally without fail.

romance in any genre is a devil’s bargain because either they get one kiss and it fades to black or they’re actually allowed to be together but they will get hit by the stupid stick

unfortunately I have to comment on my own post but the way her part is the first moment of quiet in a song that has been so loud and epic till now so that she can impart a small blessing and message to her son. the way her voice gets louder and louder. the way she breaks into the chorus and all the other chorus members join in and go on singing the song but she continues her cry and it becomes an inarticulate scream of grief……….

wish we could do polls on tumblr. anyway.

I feel like I’ve been neglecting my tumblr posts in favor of uploading to twt and instagram because I know how difficult it is to get traction on art here and I always want to be sure what I’m uploading is good enough because of that. By extension I’ve come to see my tumblr as a bit of a portfolio/”best of” situation which only exacerbates that problem

anyway my question is should I upload more on here or do we like the best of art strategy

Thanks for all the positive replies on this! i’ll try to post more moving forward ❤️
