Snowmen everywhere

When Shinichi woke up in the morning the place where Kaito usually lay was empty. He was too sleepy to pay attention. After morning routine and a few lofts of fresh coffee, it dawned on him that he had not yet seen Kaito.

When something catches his eye. There was a card on the table. It was Kid’s invitation to his heist for today. I think the inspector will be thrilled he think sarcastically. Kid’s about to steel The Tear of indigo sapphire at 8 p.m., which is unusually early for a gentleman thief in a white suit.

Shinichi hide the invitation in his pocket and decided to kill some time by giving out gifts. It’s not evening yet, but why not give them away now.

He put on his coat, a scarf around his neck, a rucksack full of gifts in his hand and set off into the freezing cold. All around it was white and the snow was still falling. Shinichi walked down the street admiring the Christmas decorations. There were also decorations on his house that Kaito had put there, because as he puts it, Christmas decorations are never enough.

He continued to admire the surrounding decorations when he was hit in the face by a snowball. “Genta!! Watch where you’re aiming!” Shinichi heard a familiar voice. He scooped the rest of the snow off his face and saw three small detectives, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta, ahead of him. “Isn’t that Shinichi-oniisan?"Ayumi asked. "Yo nice to see you kids, too.”"Genta, shouldn’t you apologize?” Mitsuhiko asked. "I’m sorry.” “Genta said. "It’s all right. While you’re all here at least I can give you gifts” I took three gifts out of my pack and gave them. All three were very excited. “Thank you.” “They said in three voices. "You’re welcome. Anyway, I’ll move on. Merry Christmas.” So, Shinichi set off again.

Shinichi’s next stop was Mouri’s detective agency. But when he came here, there were more people than he expected. Turns out, Ran threw a Christmas party. “Shinichi? What are you doing here? I thought you were spending the day with Kaito.” “Hello Ran, good to see you, too. If I’d known you were having a party, I would have come another time.” “He smiled a little. “I was going to invite you, but Kaito said you had plans for the day. That’s why I was surprised to see you here.” Ran smiled a little. “Really? Speaking of Kaito, did you happen to see him? Because I don’t.” Shinichi said. "Wait. Isn’t he with you? How dare he leave you alone on Christmas Eve! When I get my hands on him!” Shinichi just looked nervously at Ran and added “Ran, don’t worry. Knowing Kaito, I’m sure he’s planning something big.”  “Hi KUDO! What are you doing here I thought you were with your boyfriend” “Yo Hattori I’m trying to find him while I am handing out Christmas some gifts.” "Kudo’s alone today? That’s sad. Stay with us” Kazuha added to the conversation. “That would be nice, but I have plans for today. I came to hand out gifts and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.” Shinichi said. “That’s very kind of you. You can leave them under the tree over there.” Shinichi went to the Christmas tree and took most of the presents he had placed in his pack. Then he turned to Ran and gave her a small box. "This one is for you. I want to give it to you personally.” Oh, Shinichi, thanks. Wait here, I’ll go get your present.” Shinichi looked at the blue ribbon box. "Thanks to Ran. Merry Christmas.” “Shinichi to you, too.” And with that wish, Shinichi set out again.

 Kid heist

Shinichi decided to go to the museum where the said sapphire had been displayed a little earlier. The sapphire was teardrop-shaped, and the colour reminded him of Kaito’s eyes. Even though he had come two hours earlier, there were already plenty of people here. Mostly Kid’s fans and Kid’s taskforce with Inspector Nakamori.

"Kudo, what are you doing here?” Inspector asked, less than enthusiastically. Shinichi just took the invitation out of his pocket and handed it to the inspector. "Kid invited me” “Well, you can stay, but stay out of our way. Yeah, I almost forgot.” … Shinichi rubbed his red cheek from being pulled by the inspector.

He decided to explore the building and try to find out at least part of Kid’s plan for the evening, when a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts. “Shinichi, I thought you were going to be with Kaito today.” He saw Sonoko behind him. “You want to catch Kid for me as a Christmas present?” “Good to see you, too Sonoko. To your first question, I haven’t seen Kaito since this morning, and by the second, you know the Kid can’t just be caught. By the way, my present is already under the tree at Ran’s. Merry Christmas.” ” Merry Christmas to you, too.” So, he went back to examining the building.

Eight o'clock is approaching, and everyone is anxiously awaiting Kid’s arrival. The people in the room started counting down. The room went cold out of nowhere. When the snow started falling from the ceiling and all around it was suddenly fog. When the fog fell everywhere was the Kaitou Kid’s Christmas decorations, and the Kid himself was standing on the display case beneath where was the sapphire in question. Well, it was already in Kid’s hand now, but you know what I mean “Happy and Merry, everybody.” It was the first thing he said. "I hope you like my new decorations.” KIID put the sapphire back.” "Inspector, you’ll have to wait for me to finish my show.” Different snowmen of different sizes began to appear randomly around the room. "Take this show as my Christmas present, Inspector. Looks like my time here is up, but before I leave …” The Kid paused briefly, “SNOW FIGHT!” With that sentence and the utter confusion of the crowd, the Kid disappeared in a puff of smoke with said sapphire.

Shinichi walked to the roof of the museum, where the Kid already stand, examining the sapphire in the moonlight. “Not the one you’re looking for?” Shinichi asked. "Meitante, you took your time” Kid said with his trademark grin. “Sorry but getting through a crowd in a snow battle is a tough thing.” They stood there a moment, admiring the beauty of the sapphire, when Shinichi spoke. "Truthfully, I came here to wish you a Merry Christmas and say I’ll let you go for this time.” The Kid just looked at Shinichi in disbelief. “Consider this my Christmas present,” the Kid said. The sapphire in his hand had gone from a puff of smoke into Shinichi’s pocket. Before Shinichi could recover all, he could hear was “Merry Christmas Meitantei” and see the Kid sailing through the night on his glider.

Shinichi came back to return the sapphire to the inspector. He wished everyone a Merry Christmas and went home.

When Shinichi returned home, there was a huge snowman standing outside his house. Inside he was greeted by the smell of schnitzel and potato salad. “Kaito?” “Welcome back Shinichi.” It came from the kitchen. Kaito was in the kitchen, and Christmas dinner was on the table. "What are you waiting for, come eat so we can finally celebrate Christmas together.” Kaito said, and the two began Christmas dinner. After dinner, Christmas dessert awaited them.  There was lemon pie for Shinichi and a piece of chocolate pie for Kaito.

After they had finished dinner, the Kaito dragged Shinichi to the TV to watch various Christmas movies.

The sound of bells rang out from the library. Shinichi peered curiously into the library. He was surprised to see a decorated Christmas tree under which lay some nicely wrapped gifts. “Did you do this all day, Kaito? Dinner and house decorations?” Kaito nodded enthusiastically. "Come on, Shinichi, let’s open the presents.” Shinichi got a new book, The Big Book of Sherlock Holmes Stories. “Kaito thanks. Wait, I’ll get your present.” Shinichi brought a backpack and pulled out a small box, which he handed to Kaito. He enthusiastically unwrapped the present. It had a keyring in it. Well, two to be exact. One that looked like a miniature of Kaitou Kid and the other that looked like Conan. "Oh Shinichi, that’s cute. I’ll keep them with me at all times.”

Kaito enthusiastically hug Shinichi. “I love you Shinichi” “I love you too Kaito” and they kissed under mistletoe, which Shinichi didn’t even notice, it was there. When the flash of the camera interrupted them.

Yukiko thought it would be a good idea to surprise Shinichi. So, she convinced Yusaku to take a little vacation and head back home to visit his own son on Christmas Eve.

After a long flight and a trip from the airport, they arrived at the gates of their house, which was decorated with a chain of light. Shinichi didn’t usually deal with that sort of thing.

Yukiko went look for her son. There were dishes in the kitchen after Christmas dinner. There was a Christmas movie TV on in the living room. And in the Shinichi library kissing his boyfriend. Yukiko couldn’t help but record this cute moment.

"Surprise! You two are so cute. We wanted to celebrate Christmas with you. Yeah, and I invited Chikage, too.”

And Shinichi with Kaito knew they wouldn’t be bored until the end of Christmas. And no private too.
