Summary: Hernan makes hundreds of decisions every day. Some of those decisions are mundane; some are more valuable. Some carry a weight too heavy to bear. But Hernan doesn’t have the luxury of letting it pull him under. He’s Superman. His arms are holding the world up. So those decisions get made - lives are sacrificed, peace is kept, and Hernan goes home to his solitude and lives with his choices.

And Kirk, well. Hernan may have saved Kirk’s life once (a hundred times), may have set him on a more palatable path to redemption in return, but Kirk has found a way to give Hernan a kind of redemption, to offer him peace of his very own. Kirk will take Hernan’s choices from him, make them for him. Strip him of his control.

Kirk carves out a safe space for Hernan to rest in that gives him the strength to go back out and carry the world anew.
