If there’s no mustache, it ain’t Pedros.

Two HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters from the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron sit near the Craig Joint Theater Hospital after dropping off simulated patients during an exercise at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. The exercise allowed for both pararescue and medical personnel to practice responding to a real-world emergency.

And then train some more.

U.S. Air Force pararescuemen from the 82nd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron prepare to debark the U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter to participate in Mass Casualty Exercise 12-1 which started in the Grand Bara Desert, Djibouti. The exercise followed a fictitious storyline, but called for the employment of real-world assets. While French and U.S. forces conduct frequent combined training events, this was the first exercise of this type between the two nations in Djibouti. The U.S. forces involved are assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA works with coalition partners, such as the French, and with countries in East Africa to promote regional security and stability.

We bring the “pew-pew’s” when we come to get you.

A pararescueman assigned to the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron awaits dust-off aboard a U.S. Air Force HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. HH-60 crews rely on their maintainers to keep the Pave Hawks in peak condition so they can fly in support of NATO and Afghan forces at a moment’s notice.

Never look down on a medic, you never know when you will be looking up at one.

[Not a medic, a pararescueman, who will fly into red air to save your ass with door gunners blazing. Because even specops gotta call 911.]
