okay so I just downloaded the pdf of this book and literally 26 pages in there is Tyrande getting weak in the knees at the sight of her lover Malfurians ‘thrusting antlers’ nope i can’t do it. too much cringe.

btw i do not actually recommend the WOTA series at all, I literally only read them bc I was starving for more tyrande lore to see how bad/good it was.  i did not buy them, I just read them free on some russian bootleg site lol.  but regardless I DONT THINK YOU DL’D THE RIGHT BOOK?? lmao

Redeemed for what honestly? They were massacred and the Alliance didn’t offer aid to stop Arthas and the last few stragglers weren’t offered a spot in the Alliance because the Kaldorei would have killed them on the spot just for being different.. Veressa’s comment is very tone deaf, but it’s possible that being in Dalaran for so long made her completely disconnected from what was happening in the Alliance, same for Alleria, Alleria not wanting to understand why Quel’thalas joined the Horde and why she doesn’t understand why Sylvanas would be proud to be the Warchief of the Horde means she still views the ‘Horde’ as the old Horde and not Thrall’s new redeemed Horde. I hate that this comic have them both coming to the conclusion that ‘Sylvanas is beyond saving’ when in fact both of them are close minded and just don’t want to accept that the Horde has changed and  Alliance is not morally superior.

Speaking from the standpoint of Vereesa: If I have my lore right, the blood elves kicked out the elves that weren’t willing to suck the life out of living things in order to not give up subsisting on magic (making them hypocrites for any criticism of the kaldorei), and then continued to aid the races that have killed more of her people than anyone, and produced the mana bomb that was dropped on Theramore… I think the redemption she imagines for the Blood Elves is for them to finally say “no, that’s enough, we cannot continue to ally with the Horde because this is too far”.  

Speaking as my self: Vereesa is wrong, no elves can ever be redeemed, they all belong in a garbage can.

And Alleria did, specifically, want to understand Sylvanas and the Horde (not that she’s not starting without a bias ofc), but she’s heard about some of the stuff Sylvanas has done since she died, including “manipulating” her sister as Vereesa has just insinuated… I think she’s slightly open to the idea that the Horde has changed, what she’s curious about is how much Sylvanas has changed.  Especially since the normal human (and definitely Turalyon’s) view of the undead is that they are just imitations of the people they were in life, or else so changed and inherently evil that they’re not really the same person.  

And to be fair to both of them, Sylvanas didn’t go there to try and convince her sisters that the Horde was different, she went there to kill them and be EXTRA while doing it.  Maybe she could convince them the Horde has changed after she raised them lol.

Anyway, my loose goal is to keep pretty close to the original, but I do want to make Alleria less like… total immediate flip on Sylv in the redraw.  And I’m probably redoing the whole necklace dump part bc i dont even really know what happens there lmao.
