_{He’s being oddlyconcerned. He’s being oddlynice.  He doesn’t understand why his other has presented himself with a temporary nobody-gets-hurt-in-the-long-runtarget for his ragebut he has. Is this the Vanitas he knows? Is this hisother? He’s told Sora that he doesn’t care if his heart has darkness in it. So the same goes for his other. Obviouslythe same goes for his other and he cares deeplyfor him - he’s the other half of his very being,how could he notcare? But he never got the caring impression as something that was mutual.}  

_{Vanitas is the last person he expected to show up to help him channel his emotions. He doesn’t needhis help to feel better. Does he?  No. No.Of course he doesn’t.}  

_{His mind is screamingat himself to protect himself and to push the other away. His mind is begginghim to pick self preservation and to not give Vanitas any opportunity to use anything against him. Who knows what is darkness would do if he took a swing at him? Even if it was at a pillow that was being offered up as a target.  His shaded mirror has always found a way to take advantage of him, why should that change now?} 

_{But his heart is begginghim not to push him away. His heart is crying out and pleadingwith him not to push out the one person he’s been trying to pull in this entire time. He might not be able to be wholeever again but he can still keep his other close, can he not?} 

_{His lips twist and push out into a half pout as a blond brow raises in skepticism while he stares at his other half who’s offering him comfort?He doesn’t know what to make of it. There has to be something else going on … there has to be.}  

_{“Vanitas….”He starts with a pause. “….are you trying… to comfort me?”} 

_{Sure he’s frustrated but his confusion is taking center stage at the current moment.}
