My series about MEMENTO MORI isn’t finished yet, I’m now back on tumblr, sorry for leaving, but sometimes you need to take a break and breath. I love this one because it reminds me that beauty is like flowers. It withers. You shouldn’t love for appearance, everything seems so superficial in this world. I like to stop and stare and know people for who they really are and appreciating small and simple things in life.
God…I can’t explain with words the joy I’m feeling right now.
Finally…FINALLY, after almost 4 YEARS, I was able to redo the Vanitas earring and I’m so happy with the result that I want to cry! ❤
The first version I created (see this post) was very simple and I decided to make it right after I started reading the manga, which was in its infancy at the time…I’ve always thought the earring was beautiful and too detailed to be just a piece of jewelry…I thought it would definitely play a crucial role, in the future, so I wanted to make one. Unfortunately, though, materials were super hard to come by and I had to make do with what I found around.
Over the course of these 4 years, one piece at a time, I managed to find better materials that were as similar and appropriate as possible. It was a very long and patient search ahahaha
Finally, last week I managed to find the last component I needed and yesterday I found the time to put it all together…the result is what you can see! :’)
I’m very happy that I succeded in redoing it, and that it came together with the release of the last episode of the anime before the split (I never expected that we would have been blessed with anime this year!). It was really complex to assemble some parts, I won’t deny it, but the satisfaction at the end was immense! ❤
After the release of the anime I was very conflicted about the color: golden or silver? But then I thought I had to stay faithful to the manga and to my personal tastes, so I stuck to silver and I don’t regret it at all … it’s much more wearable ahah u.u
Of course, like all things that last a long time, I was a little disappointed…after all, I won’t have to go crazy with the search for materials anymore
“There’s something about the main four (Vanitas, Noé, Jeanne, and Dominique) that is both amazing and infuriating all at once. “For all that vanitas is a popular character, oddly I feel a lot of people only like or care enough about him to just ship him with their fav. And it’s made very obvious by how little I see anyone speak about his relationships with other people without somehow making it about ships. How callous this fandom is to Misha really demonstrates this tbh. Because I can’t imagine loving vanitas yet not caring about misha or his relationship with misha. Idk maybe this is just me but I can’t imagine loving a character but only caring about them when using shipping lenses.“
