also controversial opinion but rafael/jafael was frankly not as bad as antis made them out to be, villadero wasn’t entirely perfect either, and that’s kind of the point. both love interests and relationships had merit, and were key parts of jane’s story, and were good partners. it was never about which candidate was better for her or loved her more, but the fact that jane loves deeply and intensely. it was only a question of which partnership could suit her needs as she grew and changed, as well as the factor of the show having always been jafael’s story, according to the writers.
