Finally got to shoot with @7thlegendary today. Truly one of the many people who inspire me to pick up my camera and keep shooting daily. Humility is a gift that takes one very far, and he definitely has that. There was no dull moments today. Looking forward to more collabs in the near future.

“Arthur + Ruth’s Big Wedding Day”.

I shot my first wedding this past Saturday. I can honestly say that I wasn’t expecting it to be so hectic, but what can I say, such an important day has its ups and downs. Despite all of that, I can confidently say that I’m satisfied with the moments I was able to capture, and these are by far my most favorite ones so I decided to share them with you guys. “Sartorial” series entry #1: “The Wolf of Wall street”.  

-Tell me a little about yourself. 

My name is Thomas Yolain Jr, I’m a 24 year old menswear addict currently living in Baltimore. I own a blog called The Magical Theory (www.themagicaltheory.com).

-What inspired you to start taking fashion seriously? 

Hmmm that’s a tough question. I believe in an old saying, “You never know who you’re going to meet out there.” It was my last semester of college when I started doing research and presentations for my classes which prompted me to start dressing up. Furthermore, a few roommates of mine used to dressed up, so they influenced my decision to start taking fashion serious. 

-Who are your style influences (people you look up to)? 

I looked up to a lot of folks first my dad, and a few Instagrammers; @validemeanor @casketsharp @samuelpyo @sartoriomerta @jasonchew_ @that_dapper_chap @onedapperstreet @p__bienaime @veeceecheng @mr_innis @afrikingi @fufunsoup @fine_pekin @manlydavid85 @manlycollections @flawson_

-What are your goals in life? 

My goals is to become the best person and most importantly help influence society as a whole.

-Finally, what is one word of advice you can give anyone about how to succeed in life? 

Just put God first in whatever you’re doing. Surround yourself with positive and honest folks. Do things that you love and motivates you. Remember, “You’re the star player, if you don’t shine nobody else should will.”

Thomas is a very ambitious young man, who has a goal in life. His dream is to retire by the age of 39 and establish himself as a very successful business entrepreneur.

“Life | Style”.

This photo shoot was a huge success thanks to all the stylish and creative men involved in it. My vision was to capture men’s fashion and incorporate it into an “everyday life” kind of feel. Many people see the DMV area as a place with no type of style or fashion sense, but that’s not true because if you look well enough you will find some of the best styles around, and these young men did a great job showing it. I hope you enjoy these images as much I do!

Golden Hour - My favorite time of the day to shoot would have to be around sunset. The glow and hazy feel it gives your photos are just magical. If you’re a fan of vintage-looking photos, I would definitely advice you to go out and shoot around this time of the day.

Everyday People: This is a collection of photos I took today on an outing in Bethesda, it was purely to network with new people, but it ended being a very pleasant experience. It was a privilege to have been able to sit and talk with these people and build new friendships. What can you tell about these people just from looking these photos? Israel + Nina’s Prom sendoff - As you can all see it was kinda getting dark around the time I took these photos, but I was able to use the low light at my advantage. I mainly focused on getting portraits of the couple. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do!

Visited the Forest Haven Asylum today with my good bros. It was very humbling to think people lived and died there. As we walked through these historical grounds, we witnessed the cruelty the tenants were put through. “Artistic Creativity” to me means being able to feed off of the talent you’ve been given and creating innovative, abstract concepts no matter what the situation presents. One of the trickiest tasks as a photographer is being able to incorporate the environment effectively into a photograph. This shoot definitely took me out of my comfort zone, and made me appreciate details even more. How do you expect to grow if you don’t challenge yourself right?
