Another piece for the @podcastbigbang 2021. This one is for @demonic-kitkats fanfic “Funzo 2: It’s Back and It’s Personal”. Go check it out here. It’s a lot of fun to read!

[Image ID. A digital drawing featuring Eiffel, Jacobi, Minkowski and Lovelace from Wolf359. The four of them are seated on the floor of a room in space station, surrounding the board of a game of Funzo, which has been set up on the ground, a few cards stacked on top.

Jacobi, a man with brown skin, shaggy brown hair and scars along the side of his face is sitting cross-legged on the left side of the board, reaching his hand toward the center of it. He is wearing a grey jacket, black pants and a hearing aid on one of his ears. To his right sits Eiffel, who is also sitting with his legs crossed underneath him, speaking and gesturing to Minkowski. Eiffel has brown skin and long wavy brown hair tied in a short ponytail. He is wearing a grey t-shirt and black pants.

Minkowski, a white woman with reddish brown hair, is smiling in Eiffel’s direction. She is sitting with one of her legs drawn up and the other crossed underneath. One of her arms rests on her knee and the other hand on her calf. She is dressed in an orange jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up. To her right, and with her back to the viewer, sits Lovelace. She is leaning back on one of her arms, while on her other hand she holds a handful of playing cards. Lovelace is a black woman who is wearing the same jumpsuit as Minkowski, but she has taken the top half off and tied it around her waist. Underneath she is wearing a sleeveless grey shirt. Her hair is dark and curly, the left side of it shaved, and the rest tied back in a ponytail.

The box of the game they are playing lies on the ground next to Lovelace, a few stacks of cards and an instruction manual scattered in and around it. In the background, a closed metal door is set into the back wall, with an electric panel beside it. To the right, the side of a metal desk and a couple of holographic screens are visible. End ID. ]

I just had. a very specific image of this scene in my head

[ID: a digital comic of Daniel Jacobi from Wolf 359. The comic has three panels of the same size. All panels show Jacobi standing in front of a heavy metal door. Jacobi has light skin, short, black hair, thick eyebrows and a scar over his nose and on his forehead. He’s wearing a red button-up shirt.

In the first panel he’s smiling confidently with his eyes closed and one hand raised in a knocking knocking gesture. He says “But this door is completely secure.” Beside his hand the words “tap tap tap” are written in brackets to show the knocking sound.

In the second panel he is in the exact same position and has the same expression on his face. He says “See?”.

In the last panel his eyes are open wide and he is still smiling but looks highly concerned. In big, white, all caps letters the word “Knock” is written three times on the right side of his head. The whole comic is framed in black. End ID]

is there any truth to what you tell me you know about me?

lyrics under the cut

Everything is movement

Everything is hypochondriac

And pieced together from the fragments of losing

Sight of what I thought you wanted me to be

Though I’ve tried, and it almost killed me

You cannot know this

You cannot pretend to be close with me, psychosis…

Batters at your worldview and gnosis

Whoa, it’s only been a minute and a moment

And you’re already done?

This is praxis

Do you have anything to fight back with?

No, you lack it

Am I making you worry?

I am long past this post-traumatic, manic consciousness blasted

Is your vision getting blurry?

Yeah, you’re gonna need glasses

I burn so fucking bright

But your eyesight only sees ashes

Look in my eyes and see the person you damaged.
