I like to think Zuko was never told by anyone how Aang ended up still being a child and not 100yr old man, so he just sorta starts figuring it out by the bits and pieces of info he gets from Aang and the rest like
Aang:y'know what the hardest part of being born 100 years ago is?
Zuko, who just woke up after getting an arrow bonked against his head, seeing Aang is clearly twelve:?????

I rewatched episode 2x01 today and Zuko looked so happy here! Every time I rewatch this scene, it breaks my heart. Zuko is happy that his Uncle has decided to go back home with him. He’s completely oblivious to the fact that the invitation home is a trap and that he’s meant to be taken as a prisoner, while Uncle Iroh does have his suspicions. He’s gone with Zuko to protect him. Azula of course, doesn’t really have a choice. Ozai has sent her specifically to capture both Uncle Iroh and Zuko and bring them back to the Fire Nation as prisoners. She can’t defy an order from the Fire Lord. It’s so unfair to both Zuko and Azula. It’s really just another way that Ozai set the two siblings against each other, by forcing Azula to capture Zuko. It just makes me hate Ozai even more! He doesn’t deserve either of his children.
Finally got around to doing the first of the 6 fanart collection, and despite my love for Avatar I’m pretty sure this is my first time drawing any of the characters? So thank you for recommending I draw Katara!
