A good way to start a new year is to paint!
There’s an online course going on that is Sherlock themed. Violin was the first task. It was quite difficult to use watercolour after such a long period of not practising at all. Nevertheless I m very glad I signed up for this and here is my first result!

I was so scared to try painting this one! Everything seemed impossible: perspective, light, shadows, cracks on the wall and stairs! I wanted to tear it to pieces maybe a dozen times at least. Well, I’m really glad I didn’t! I don’t think this work is perfect, I see the mistakes pretty well, but we are supposed to learn from them, right?

I think every ship is a majestic vessel. They bravely prowl those fierce waters, they endure merciless storms,  they are symbols of strength and confidence. That’s why my ships are fighting the fogs or rolling gently with the waves gazing at the sunset.

I have something different to show you today! This was my second attempt at doing a full painting. This picture reminds me of one of my favorite books, “The Secret Garden”. [Watercolor on paper. A4 size.]
