A/N:@creativekat and I came up with the idea to write a story together and see how it went. This is the result. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be doing it again!
You stood at the small mirror above the sink in your classroom, double checking your appearance. You were dressed professionally but comfortably in a pair of fitted trousers, sweater, and ballet flats. Your hair was pulled away from your face, though you toyed with the idea of taking it out of its ponytail. You did that, but then decided it looked more “put together” pulled back. So, you gathered it at the back of your head and secured it once again.
Once you were satisfied with your appearance you took a deep breath and began to run through your motivational mantras, “You can do this. Sure, you aren’t a Heroic … but, that doesn’t make you’re unimportant. You have skills. You’re smart. You deal with kids five days a week. What’s a few meetings with their parents?” With a sigh, you added, “Their Heroic parents.”
My first post on tumblr and I thought it deserved to got to the author who’s writing got me on tumblr in the first place!! I absolutely love this series so far and cannot wait for more!!

The time alone had been put to good use. Two days, soft and muted, bodies and minds resetting into neutral colors and tepid tones. A cream-colored fairness. A step past the veracity of your relationship to something comfortable and regular. With no one else around, the days were serene and placid, gentle hands in your hair, tenderly brushing against bare skin, knowing exactly how the other’s heart was held. Two days of pretending superheroes and paperwork and computers didn’t exist. Two days filled with late nights and quiet mornings, clothing falling under the category of optional. There had been hours of exploration, fingers mapping endless spans of skin, finding new ways to make the other fall to the mattress, panting and begging, gifting that sweet release of pleasure again and again. In the between there had been quiet moments, patches of silence mingling comfortably with stretches of confessions big and small.
Oh, poor babies… They’re both struggling so bad with that need for confirmation. If only they dared to say it. I’m so excited to see what comes of all the little puzzle pieces you spread out along the way

NOTES: Fair warning, this chapter will read differently then the others. We spend a lot more time in Techie’s head than we have in the past, and as I’ve alluded to in other posts, this is en emotional chapter. Thank you as always to @pippki-writes who is always ready and willing to beta a fic for a movie she’s never seen starring an actor she is not obsessed with. It might be one of the more ridiculous things I’ve asked her to do in the course of our friendship. Marcus is certain at this point; he is one hundred percent, bet on black, pigs cannot fly, for sure certain that he will die in this conference room. Almost four hours last night. Going on two tonight, and the end is nowhere in sight.

I’m sorry you struggled with this chapter, love, but from a reader’s perspective I can’t find anything wrong with it. I can feel that something’s brewing, details lingering in the back of my mind, knowing that they connect to something, and I’m so eager to learn where you’re taking me

“So where’s Missy tonight?” You ask, leaning against the counter, watching Marcus as he pours whiskey into a cocktail shaker.
“She is at a sleepover with some girls from her swim team.” Marcus had hardly believed it himself when Missy had told him her plans for the evening when he casually began fishing if she would mind another night at her grandmother’s. He suspected there was an additional influence at play here. One that was currently letting her fingers dance across the drink ingredients laid out on the countertop.
