(aka do aegyo and make your seniors love you)

During Super Junior’s activities I would find seniors who were in the middle of their comeback and would act cute for them. I would search for seniors like Im Chang Jung, Jo Sung Mo, Kim Wan Sun and would sing and dance. The seniors would be delighted seeing that.

Moreover whenever I’d see strong sisters of the pop world such as Cool’s Yuri, Diva’s Chae Ri Na, Park Ji Young I would sing their songs and dance while acting cute, much to their delight.

Lastly, I would always give my seniors love confessions saying “I love you~”.

Instead of saying “Hello” or “Goodbye” when hanging up, meeting them or parting ways, I would say “I love you~”; I think those words are better suited to convey your affection.

Whenever I give my signatures sincerely during fansign events, it takes a lot of time and many times I was unable to give my signature to a large number of people. (T/N: Heechul said on Knowing Brother that his signature is pretty complicated so it takes him a lot of time to sign CDs and his hand starts hurting a lot)

Which is why I’ve changed it to fan picture events! I’ve changed it to taking selcas with each fan instead. When I did that fans expressed that they really liked it~

Moreover early on in my debut days, fans used to buy me very expensive gifts which made me feel uncomfortable. This is why I said on the radio “Everyone~ you can only give me letters, don’t give me gifts. You only need to give us and our songs your love~”

Instead of receiving expensive gifts, I would rather receive the love of our fans.

As soon as Infinite’s leader Sunggyu debuted, he greeted me by bowing to me in 90 degree angle whenever he would see me. Everytime he saw me he would bow in a 90 degree angle and I would tell him that such greeting is not necessary.

In 2010 I became the MC of a radio program, when the PD asked me who would be a good fixed guest, Infinite Sunggyu’s name came to my mind.

Back then his constant greetings made me feel a little uncomfortable, but it still left a big impression on me.

It is said that the students that the teachers will remember are those who study very well or those who don’t study at all; it seems that the same applies in this case.

Therefore if you want to introduce yourself, put effort into your greetings and never pretend to not notice the senior! If you follow this advice, seniors will surely remember you!

(But if you don’t greet in such way, won’t your promotions become difficult? If you don’t greet variety show MCs, especially Lee Sunggyu, Kang Hodong, Yoo Jae Suk, it might be the end of your activities as a celebrity… Decide for yourself on how to greet your seniors.)

Kim Heechul’s individual idol schedule

During Super Junior’s activities there were a lot of individual schedules besides the group ones.

When I first debuted I appeared alone on mini series drama and a sitcom.

Usually when my schedule would end at 4 am  I wouldn’t go back to the dorm and instead go to the hair and make up salon straight away.

I if slept for 30mins-1h inside the car, my hair designer would wake me up, which is why I would also sleep  whi8le getting my hair and make up done inside the salon.

As soon as my hair and make up were done, I would go to the sitcom set and film there, after which I would go to my drama set and film there.

After filming the drama I would go to music show stations and do rehearsals there.

Then after the rehearsal I would go to the radio station to do a radio broadcast, after which I would go back to the music show station to perform.

When I was done with the performance, I would again return to the radio station to record.

It wasn’t only these schedules, but sometimes I would also do variety show recordings on top of that.

Back then my average sleeping time would be between 30 minutes and 1 hour, I mainly slept inside the car. It seems that back then I prevailed by using my mental strength.

When I was in high school I went to SM’s auditions, but was an hour late.

Back then I lived in Gangwondo, kids from Gangwondo had no business going to Seoul, not to mention Cheongdamdong (district where SM is located)
My friends and I only wrote SM entertainment’s address on a piece of paper and drew a simple map; we came quite unprepared.
however no matter how hard we’ve tried to find it we were unable to, with much difficulty we finally reached Cheongdamdong.
In front of one of the buildings there was a group of female students.
I asked them “Excuse me, where is SM?”, they laughed at me and replied “It’s here but the auditions ended.”
Even though they told me auditions ended, I thought that I should risk it and take a look downstairs; the auditions have ended but staff members were still putting things away.
The staff told me “I am sorry but auditions have ended already, please come again tomorrow”, I replied “I am unable to come tomorrow, I came from Gangwondo”.
At that moment, the casting leader took a look at me from the back and said “Wait a minute, please come in.”
This is how I came into the audition room while staring vacantly at the surroundings.
Back then there were posters of Black Beat, SHINVI and Milk on the walls. Inside my head I exclaimed “woah” in awe.
I was told to sing a song and during that time I really liked rock music which is why I sang a rock song.
After I’ve finished singing it, I was asked to sing the national anthem which I did.
It turns out that when someone is singing the national anthem, their usage of techniques such as vibration is very difficult which is why they make you sing it.
I sang it all, including the national anthem and was told they will contact me later on.
I was then asked where I will go now, I was told that since I am already here I should go to Apgujeong Rodeo road but I said I won’t go there and will instead go home.
Later on it turned out that this casting director was telling me that if I go walk on that road, I will receive huge amount of casting offers.
I went straight home and the next day SM got in touch with me asking me to sign a contract. This is how I ended up in SM.
