With demons and the whole mutations thing is it kind of like with birds where theres the “adorable baby” stage, the “awkward teenager” stage that happens between losing the baby feathers and growing the adult feathers and then the “magestic badass stage” but instead its the “just turned and mostly normal looking” stage, the “W.T.A.F is that” stage and the “uncanny valley” stage and the “W.T.A.F” stage is less “awkward” for some and more “awkward” for others or is it more like “this is what you look like now if you mutate good luck” or “you look like this and you can mutate but you can make yourself look like this again” ???

What if instead of being the water hashira and former water hashira, Giyuu and Urokodaki were the flame hashira and former flame hashira respectively? If this were the case the fact that they all have fox masks and are “affectionately” called foxes would make more sense because kitsune’s or fox spirits are closely associated with fire instead of water. Although this in turn would have made Rengoku the water hashira, which would only make sense if you are thinking about a bright orange and gold koi-fish (i mean yeah he has the attention-span of one but-). But in-conjunction to this that would mean that Tanjiro would know flame-breathing and sun-breathing, although he probably would be constantly getting the two confused. And it would make a bit more sense with Nezuko since her blood demon art basically makes her a walking stick of dynamite.

(Also Sabito could have the nickname “Fire-Fox” and it would be funny)
