Currently in the mood to post stuff from the RodeOmens/Western Cryptids AU again, so why not some concept arts?
I’ve also made a whole card set for this AU while doing the Yeehawgust challenge last year, with each card telling a part of the story in this universe:
Crowley was a pastor, disillusioned with the church and his faith, so he faked his death and turned to a life of an outlaw.
Said outlaw met Aziraphale, a rancher, and fell heads over heels for him. He stayed low while living at their ranch, helping with chores and watching over his man’s assets.
Crowley’s old gang, who he didn’t get along with, found where he was hiding at and captured Aziraphale. Whatever they did to him, Crowley was only able to arrive when it’s all too late.
Crowley didnt know by accidentally mentioning the name of his friend, a well off rancher to his old gang through drunken slurs and mumblings, that they would be going after Aziraphale.
When he found out where it had happened, it was almost too late. The wagon was wrecked, and its owner collapsed in a pool of blood. A rope still dangled on Aziraphale’s neck when the thugs dragged him on the ground.
You can’t see his face from the back, but he was sobbing. Maybe it was due to guilt from letting it happen to his friend, or it was relief to know that Aziraphale was alive after all.
The sheriff and deputy are forced to become outlaws. A man and his cartoon son out on the run, at least until they can return to their town, rescue Linda, and take down Joey and his gang.
So it’s been a while since I came back to this AU, but I thought I’d share these old doodles because Western!Skinner is just something I can’t get out of my head.
