He approached her publicist Patricia Newcomb in hopes to meet and shoot with her. After she agreed, she was a no-show at their scheduled shoot days. When she finally arrived late at the end of the day, she explained she wanted to apologize in person, but that she had been very sick and tired. He told her, “For you, I’d wait a week.”

She did her own makeup for the shoot and although he found it to be a bit overdone, he later said that she was like all of the world’s most beautiful women as one.
