Don’t you just love it when you come across an amazing deal while book shopping?

This summer while browsing in a secondhand bookshop on Vancouver Island, I found this complete set of Woolf diaries. They were priced at $7 each but the kind shop owner let me have them for $1 each.

*Volume 1 1915-19
*Volume 2 1920-24
*Volume 3 1925-30
*Volume 4 1931-35
*Volume 5 1936-41

Have you attempted reading these diaries yet? As much as I love this author, I have not yet read her diaries. I hope to start this autumn. Anyone care to join me?

Do you ever reread books?

Last month I reread To The Lighthouse. Being such a huge fan of Virginia Woolf’s, I am embarrassed to say that I actually did not love the book the first time I read it. However, I did love it this second time around.

This time I decide to follow it up with All The Lives We Ever Lived: Seeking Solace in Virginia Woolf by Katharine Smyth. This book is a poetic memoir where the author compares her relationship with her father and his death to Virginia Woolf’s life and also to the famous novel, To The Lighthouse. For me, this memoir was a very enjoyable read and I am so thrilled I decided to read it when I did.

Have you read either of these two books?
