#ye watchers and ye holy ones
I pity angels working on the earth.
Nothing hurts like knowledge
and heart together. I know that
even with my human limitations.
What is a halo but a wound
in the fabric of reality,
the world’s steel sparking
against the divine?
I could be wrong. Is a halo a shield,
shining and warm,
that I don’t have?
Either way,
I don’t have enough wings
to do this work.
