summary: Yennefer is struggling to connect with Ciri, but when the girl runs away from Geralt, the sorceress is the only person who can find and bring her back.
content warning: This story delves into the aftermath of a suicide attempt through the perspective of a loved one who has also survived a suicide attempt. Each chapter will have specific content warnings in the notes, and below.
excerpt:
The raven-haired mage paced the floor of her chamber as though she could walk into the land of dreams that way. Her room in the complex at the Temple of Melitele was sparse but comfortable, the bed warm and plush. And yet she couldn’t sleep. She caught her reflection in the mirror above the washbasin for a moment and startled.
Her eyes looked impossibly tired. Resigned. Where once there was fire and cunning and ambition and need was now something dull, like an old coin clipped too close, and she wondered if her heart was the same, cut away so far it no longer held any value.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a muffled thump outside her windows, followed by a pitiful, whining, “Ow!”
She rolled her eyes, went to the double-doors leading to a small balcony, and pulled them open sharply. A tangle of thick, silk-clad limbs tumbled in a heap at her feet, and the sharp blue eyes of the bard looked up at her.
content warnings: dirty talk/humiliation kink
Sketching more with my “Yennefer is described looking like 90s Julia Louis-Dreyfus” headcanon. Coming from the games I didn’t realize going into the books how much I’d LOVE Yen. Most of all I love how so far she’s only ever been described wearing men’s clothes. So here’s a menswear Yen, in an outfit loosely based on medieval Polish military and nobility costume
