thinking about all those elseworlds and fanfics of superbat as kids and youngsters who are heroic and worked with each other on humanitarian causes and lamenting the potential with dick and garth. that is what they should have gotten!
they had everything and more! the power you have, despite the bewilderment of living in a new world and being lonely outsiders, as well as the bittersweet attachment and love for it, a new friend that’s totally different from you but accepts you, understands you and your ideals, teams of which you both are founders, families that you protect and lead, and a world that needs your compassion and your inspiration. thrown into that, mentors that challenge you, great legacy that you uphold, and a friendship you had in spite of class and origins since childhood which became a harbour of trust and comfort.
that although dc hates both of you and tries to replace you or kill you on sight over and over for years and years you don’t see each other nearly enough, you both just “get” it and “get” each other, perhaps more than anyone.
