…………………………………PV水曜日のカンパネラが5月26日に新曲「メロス」を配信リリースする。
On May 26th, Wednesday Campanella will release their new single, “Melos.”最新アルバム「SUPERMAN」の発売以降、初めて発表される新曲「メロス」は太宰治の短編小説「走れメロス」がモチーフになった楽曲。作詞作曲はケンモチヒデフミが担当した。
Their first song announced since the release of their newest album, Superman, the composition is based on the motif of “Run, Melos!”, a short story by Dazai Osamu. Kenmochi Hidefumi was in charge of song composition.配信に先駆け、本日5月24日に「メロス」のミュージックビデオがYouTubeにて公開された。このMVは、5月10日に東京・東京競馬場から無観客ライブを生配信したのに続く、日本ダービーとのコラボレーションプロジェクト「東京遊駿」の第2弾として制作されたもの。水カンの作品ではおなじみの山田智和がディレクションを手がけ、全編モンゴルにて撮影された。コムアイとの出会いや子供たちとの交流を通じて、1人のモンゴル人の少女が成長していくストーリーが描かれている。
Charging ahead of distribution, the music video for “Melos” was uploaded on Youtube today, May 24th. This video, continuing from the live broadcast of the audience-less live show from Tokyo Racecourse on May 10th, was developed as the second part of ”Tokyo Yuushun”, a collaboration project with the Japan Derby. Under the direction of Tomokazu Yamada, a regular collaborator on Sui-Kan’s work, the whole video was shot in Mongolia. It paints the story of one Mongolian girl’s growth through her meeting with Komu Ai and the interactions with children.撮影には総勢300人を超える出演者とスタッフを動員し、ロケ地周辺に住んでいる地元の子供たち100人と100頭の馬も参加。コムアイは自ら馬に乗り、手綱を操りながら撮影に臨んだ。彼女は「帰ってからも耳の穴から黒い砂がザラザラ出て来たけれど、いい加減ザラザラ出てこなくなってしまって、さみしい」とモンゴルでの撮影を懐かしんでいる。
The shoot mobilized altogether more than 300 actors and staff, and 100 children living near the location and 100 heads of horses also participated. Komu Ai rode a horse herself, and appeared on film while wielding the reins. She reminisces about her time in Mongolia, saying “Though the black sand kept falling out of my ears even after coming back, when it stopped coming out I missed it.”（Source）
