Once I wrote something that amounted to “Don’t tell me what to do” and some dude commented that I didn’t have to use every opportunity to remind people that I don’t like being told what to do.

DON’T FUCKING TELL ME WHAT TO DO.

Don’t let anyone tell you what to do. And I wouldn’t value the opinion of others unless they’ve earned the right to be valued by you. I have never, ever, ever in over a decade of being online in these social spaces given anonymous people the ability to comment or ask me questions. Know why? Because I don’t give a fuck about anonymous people and their bullshit. I care about the people who support me and love me and share with me and learn with me and teach me. You don’t have to know someone personally to value their opinion either, just know what they need to do to gain your respect and be worthy of your time. Because your time is precious. And it’s going run out, you know? Death comes for us all! Don’t waste your time engaging with anonymous jerks.
