@mythologicalnetevent-Chinese mythology

I was taught that goddesses only exist in the heart and in myths. You think women are weak? Women are forged of iron. My body, it has bled and blazed and broken, and yet it beats on. I am iron. A little rusted, perhaps, but still I endure.”

Favourite Figures from Mythology(15/25)

Nut

Goddess of the sky in Egyptian mythology. She is one of the oldest deities of the Ennead, those ancient Egyptian gods whose story begins with the creation myth at Heliopolis. Some of her titles include Coverer of the Sky, She Who Protects, Mistress of All and as a goddess who is mother to five other gods, she is also worshipped as the protector of children and goddess of childbirth. Nut is represented as a nude woman covered in stars or as her sacred symbol, a cow.

cassiopheias:

Xiangshuishen湘水神; The Xiangshuishen or Xiang River Goddesses are goddesses of the Xiang River in Chinese folk religion. The Xiang flowed into Dongting Lake through the ancient kingdom of Chu. The Xiang goddesses were daughters of the Emperor Yao, who were named Ehuang and Nüying who were said to have been married by him to his chosen successor, and eventually emperor, Shun, as a sort of test of his administrative abilities: then, later, they became goddesses, after the death of their husband.
