I get owning a cat or a dog or even a bird, but never a hamster or rat. They don’t have a conscious. If you placed a perfectly healthy rat in front of a brick of cheese and a dead cow, it would 100% burrow inside the skull of that cow.
Actually, rats are highly intelligent and affectionate creatures. They remember the faces of their owners and look forward to seeing them.
