Since it’s spring already- we can start the countdown to summer right? Can’t wait for adventures at Zakrzowek! This abandoned limestone quarry, now a local swimming spot, is full of history, from the sunken cars and bodies that live in its waters to the stories of its time as a Nazi Labour Camp counting Pope John Paul II as its employee….. http://emilysguidetokrakow.com/2015/07/07/zakrzowek-enter-if-you-dare-but-really-its-fine/

I took the drone for a little ride at the abandoned Marmora Mine a few weeks ago. This place is massive.

Glowing golden calcite atop water clear chabazite crystals found today on a prospecting trip with my dude @c_rackelman of @unearthed.minerals at a site he honed in on in Columbia County. As we were mostly trying to find access, we didn’t bring any equipment but we’re pleasantly surprised by a bunch of great fresh float material. We’ll be back for sure soon with some buckets at the very least!

Sampling of all the sick golden calcite on clear chabazite that @unearthed.minerals led us to a few months back. This stuff is endlessly aesthetic, and looks amazing under magnification and UV light. Very fun to photograph, but I neglected to really clean these before I documented them. The best of this stuff can now be seen at @carneliancoffee, but I’ll be sure to post more of it this week

theres this lake in Pennsylvania that my family and I used to go to thats a filled in quarry town and it still has all the roads and houses and cars at the bottom (if you go out with a boat that has sonar, you can kind of see them) and theres this one part where if you dive deep enough you can grab the top of a church steeple.
