October 12th 1994 - Page and Plant - No Quarter

MTV brought Led Zeppelin’s main songwriters together on August 25 and August 26 to tape performances in London, Wales, and Morocco with Egyptian and Moroccan orchestration of several Led Zeppelin tunes along with four new songs. The performances aired on October 12 and were released on CD as as No Quarter: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant UnLeaded on October 14th in the UK and November 8th in the US.

The album was so successful commercially that the two coordinated a tour together that kicked off in February 1995.

Notably John Paul Jones, the bass guitarist for Led Zeppelin, was not asked to join for either No Quarter nor for the tour. However, Jason Bonham, the son of deceased drummer John Bonham, did tour with his dad’s band.

The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard charts in the US.

July 8th, 1994 - Face to Face

On July 8th, Billy Joel and Elton John started on a 14 city, 21 night summer concert series featuring dueling pianos. For Billy Joel, it was his first tour in 10 years. They plaid their own music, they played each others music, and they preformed duets.  The series was so successful, that it ran again in the summer of 1995 and again in the summer of 1998 taking the show globally to Europe and Asia.
