#70s scifi

“Who?” was a Cold War spy-thriller update of the plot of the “Man in the Iron Mask.” The studio held on to it for 5 years.

For a while, I thought the race of helmeted, armor wearing warrior Acroyears from Micronauts comics were based on the Mandalorians from Star Wars. However, one minor detail confuses that narrative: the Acroyears came first.

“The General Zapped an Angel” (1970), por Karel Thole (1914-2000).

Karel Thole fue un prolífico pintor e ilustrador de origen holandés-italiano cuyo trabajo destacó principalmente por la creación de increíbles paisajes surrealistas cuyas narrativas visuales remiten a una ciencia ficción futurista con toques de horror clásico realizados en paletas de profundos colores cálidos y oscuros, mayormente. “The General Zapped an Angel” fue una ilustración realizada para uso editorial (ámbito donde Thole tuvo un gran desempeño), más específicamente hablando, como portada de la obra literaria de ciencia ficción homónima del escritor estadounidense Howard Fast.
